We strive to be a guesthouse that will be a highlight of your trip by experiencing Japanese Culture through our food and hospitality.
We are here to provide the best possible experience for you and will assist in any way to make your visit to Miyajima as memorable as possible.
Island of the Gods – Miyajima
Just beyond the exit from UNESCO World Heritage Site, Itsukushima Shrine is the historical Daiganji-Gate-Nishimachi Street.
Along this street is a traditional residence dating back to the Meiji Era, which has been reimagined as our guesthouse, Shiomachi-an.
Here, you can experience the traditional life of a Miyajima resident in addition to enjoying the Japanese Cuisine available through our in-house restaurant, Shiomachi-Sushi Tsurumi.
We welcome all guests and hope you choose to stay with us at Shiomachi-an.
*Shiomachi-an translates to ‘lodge to wait for the tide,’ as regional merchants would rest on Miyajima as they waited for the tide to turn in their favor.
